What to know

For a conference, printed polyester lanyards with a safety breakaway are the standard, and a breakaway is worth specifying because it is a genuine safety feature in a crowd. For permanent staff badges, a reusable holder with a magnetic back avoids pinning holes in uniforms, and names can be reprinted as people change roles. If your badges carry QR codes for check-in, test one printed badge with the actual scanner before the full run.

Artwork requirements

For lanyards, send a vector logo (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) with Pantone references for your brand colours. A lanyard is narrow, so keep the design to a logo or short wordmark repeated along the length; fine detail and small text disappear at 15 or 20 mm wide. For printed badges, supply artwork in CMYK at 300 DPI at the final size, with 2 mm bleed.

For personalised badges, send names, roles and any QR code data in a spreadsheet, one row per badge, spelled exactly as they should print. Read the artwork guide before you upload.

Early enough that late registrations can be added as a small second batch. Leave the final 10 percent of names until the week before.

They hold without pinning, but anyone with a pacemaker should use a pin or clip version instead.

Yes. Polyester lanyards can be printed on one or both sides. Printing both sides, with your logo repeated along the full length, keeps the branding visible however the lanyard twists.
