Choosing your binding
Up to about 48 pages, saddle-stitched is the usual answer: two staples through the spine, page count in multiples of four. Beyond that the spine gets bulky and perfect binding — a glued square spine — looks and handles better, and gives you a printable spine for a shelf. Wire-o lies flat, which suits manuals and anything read while doing something else.
Company profiles
A profile for a tender or a client meeting is usually A4, 16 to 32 pages, saddle-stitched, on 170gsm text with a 300gsm matt laminated cover. Allow extra time for approvals — profiles go through more internal review than any other print job, and that, not production, is what usually makes them late.
